HEAT RECOVERY CONNECTED TO FLUE GAS TREATING SYSTEMS.

Gas-gas heat exchangers our RAAG patented type find a lot of applications in DESOX and DENOX flue gas treating plants. Gas-gas heat exchangers are used when there is the need to increase the plant efficiency by means of heat recovery. The flue gas to be trated is heated recovering the sensible heat of treated flue gas before sending the same to stack.

There are also other applications in the environmental protection systems for incineration plants.

FIRST INSTALLATION OF GAS-GAS HEAT EXCHANGER.

Our experience in designing and manufacturing gas-gas heat exchangers dates back to 1988. The first equipment fit for recovering heat from treated flue gas has been installed in a power station of an oil refinery in South Italy.

STEEL DIMPLED PLATES.

Since 1982 we have been manufacturing gas gas preheaters made by steel dimpled plates, dimpled externally gas side and dimpled internally cold part side.

Steel dimpled plates can be made by carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel or corrosion resistant steel.

COMBINATION OF DIFFERENT MATERIALS.

Many gas-gas heat exchangers are realized with different materials, for instance one bank in corrosion resistant steel and other ones made by carbon steel to cope with different conditions in the different parts of the unit.

The use of static "recuperative type" heat exchangers provided with extended surfaces is very attractive for gas-gas heat transfer because it allows to realize very compact heat exchangers avoiding problems connected to excessive dimensions typical of bare tubes units, or bare plates.

In fact film heat transfer for gases is feeble and the extension of heat exchanging surface, both side, permits the huge increase of the overall heat transfer.

The increased heat transfer surface for unit volume means lower installation costs compared to other equipment.

We realize all our RAAG patented type gas-gas heat exchangers with highly efficient dimpled plates provided with outer fins hot gas side and inner fins cool gas side. The dimpled plates are realized by different materials: carbon, steel, corten, alloy steel, stainless steel.

If the dimensions are fit for transportation, our equipment are supplied completely preassembled, ready for erection. If the overall dimensions are exceeding the transport capability or the erecting maneuverability they are supplied in prefabricated modules.
